For the third time Ural Federal University is glad to welcome the people from all over the world to participate in the Summer School 2013 'Russian Studies in Real Russia: Russia X dimension'.The School will be held on July, 29 - August, 16, 2013. 

The Summer School 2013 'Russia X' will be an interrelated process of the lectures given by the best university experts, lessons of Russian language and everyday interactive events. The lectures will be aimed at studying the most important aspects of Russia’s being in the world of today: Russian Identity, Modernity, Intergration.

Studying Russia in Ekaterinburg allows foreign student to get the understanding of ‘Real Russia’. An old industrial region, a multicultural ‘melting pot’ on the border of Europe and Asia, Ural is providing an excellent practical addition to academic disciplines. Russian language is an essential part of the School and will be practiced everywhere: in the class, in the city, in different workshops, during excursions.

During this program students will visit the highlighted sights of Ekaterinburg and  the Ural region: the heart of the old industrial region (the first dump of the Ural plant) and the old merchant town of Ekaterinburg, the border between Europe and Asia, the place of the murdering the last Russian Emperor Nicolas II and his  family, the preserved old Russian village of the 17th century, Old Believer’s pottery, first golden mines, weird Soviet architectural experiments, and many more.

This Summer School  2013 'Russian Studies in Real Russia: Russia X dimension' will be a big palette for the reproducing the genuine Russia of today: its light and dark sides, the mentality and the lifestyle of people who live there. The full-scale immersion in the uneven everyday Russian life in order through all the reflections to find the answer to the question X: “Who am I?”, understand what you are really capable for and discover your own Russia.

Course Fee: 20 200 roubles ( appx.503 euros ). Incl.  courses, excursions and cultural programme, teaching materials, visa support

Upon completion the UrFU certificate of attendance is given.
