Students of the University Will Practice at the Brazilian Mining Enterprises

The university has signed a multilateral agreement with the Brazilian Mining Association

From this year, students of Ural Federal University will be able to practice at the mining enterprises of Brazil. A corresponding agreement was signed on April 24 by UrFU rector Victor Koksharov and the communications director of the Brazilian Mining Association Paulo Henrique Soares.

Paulo Henrique Soares has 20 years of experience in communications at Vale, the Brazilian mining company, which is the world's leading producer of iron ore and nickel. As the Director of Communications of the Brazilian Association of Mining Companies, Paulo works with all companies in the industry in Brazil.

"This is the first project that will allow students of UrFU to practice at the Brazilian mining and metallurgical enterprises," says Paulo Henrique Soares. - I think this will be an exclusively mutually beneficial cooperation. I represent the Brazilian region of Minas Gerais, which is very similar to the Urals. The region has a large number of mining and metallurgical enterprises. In particular, there is a company similar to the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company. All this will allow us to train truly qualified personnel for specific enterprises in this sector of industry. "

The collaboration will start with the joint master's Russian-Brazilian educational program "Public relations and advertising: harmonization of intercultural communications." In the future, other joint programs will appear. The first student will go to practice in Brazil this year in August. The period of passing the student's practice can be one or two semesters. The academic performance will be assessed by the Brazilian Mining Association.

The agreement between UrFU and the Brazilian Mining Association also involves the exchange of technical and administrative personnel of a higher level, research cooperation, joint organization of conferences, and the exchange of publications and scientific documentation between the university and the association.
