Regional engineering center of the university moves from drafts to real actions

Along with the two Russian capitals, Ekaterinburg is becoming one of the main national centers of additive technologies. This tendency was confirmed by the meeting of the technical committee Rosstandart № 182 and the Scientific and Technical Council for the development of additive technology in the Ministry of Industry of the Russian Federation, which took place on 26 - 28 in Moscow.

The meetings were attended by the leaders of UrFU Regional Engineering Center, Fefelov Alexey and Alexey Merkushev.

The meetings covered the prospect of the actions aimed at the development of additive technology in Russia and their use in industrial production discussed. As this development is starting from the very beginning, it is necessary to develop not only the materials, equipment and software, but also the terms, standards and certification procedures.

In Rosstandart the work on these tasks will implemented by the respective divisions of 182th Committee; the First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Gleb Nikitin at a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council promised government support for the development of the most promising projects.

One of the additive technology was preseted to the participants of the meeting; it was a desktop 3D-printer is the professional level of "Alpha-2" produced in Voronezh.

During the 2016, Regional Engineering Center will move from drafts and experiments to the "hardware". It is planned to produce a prototype of the industrial additive machine and in partnership with the Ural Electrochemical Plant, part of "Rosatom" corporation, and to build a pilot installation for the production of metal powders in Novouralsk.
