Ural Volunteers helped to conduct Judo European Championship

Volunteering during the sport events helps the activists to prepare for the 2018 FIFA World Cup

10 activists of UrFU volunteer center “Volunteers of the Urals” came back home. They were helping to organize and conduct Judo European Championship in Kazan along with people from Orenburg, Samara, Chelyabinsk and Kazan.

According to them, the event was very successful thats to the work of volunteers. Delegations from different cities were constantly in touch with each other, shared experiences; all nonresident volunteers were given the possibility to perform different functions: transport, broadcasting, media relations, sport program, sports information center.

Successful experience of working at the large event will definitely be a good stimulus to continue working as a volunteer. The guys are impressed with the trip and ready to move on. The experience of Kazan is a big step towards a successful work at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

“We have discovered new functions. Perhaps we will choose this functions duringat the World Cup in Ekaterinburg. Each of us will have the understanding of what to expect from one or another job and be able to choose a function according to possibilities and preferences”, - says the activist of the UrFU volunteer center Ekaterina Filchakova.

Judo European Championship was held in Kazan in sports palace "Tatneft Arena" on April 21 - 24.

We would like to remind that UrFU volunteer center “Volunteers of the Urals” received an official status of volunteer center of 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Center activists have been working at the most important and the largest Russian events for more than 3 years. Among them are XXVII 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan XI 2014 Olympics and Paralympics in Sochi, XVI Aquatics 2015 in Kazan, VI 2015 World Junior Handball Championship, etc.

Selection of volunteers for the World Cup starts in summer 2016.
