UrFU to send more exchange students to Czech Republic

Academic exchange will become the first step in strengthening the relations with Czech universities

Social and political sciences, history, economics, IT and chemistry – this is not the full list of areas for academic and research collaboration between Ural Federal University and University of Hradec Kralove (the Czech Republic), as the rectors of the two universities believe. They held a meeting in Ekaterinburg on 18 May and are ready to prepare a cooperation agreement. The head of the Czech university Josef Hynek expressed his confidence in UrFU being a reliable partner for Hradec Kralove.

 “We have so far been cooperating only with Moscow universities”, Mr. Hynek noticed. “Students exchange with UrFU could be the first step, and further we are going to develop the relations”.

Victor Koksharov, in his turn, is ready for active cooperation. According to UrFU Rector, a noticeable barrier is still the lack of foreign language skills; however, this issue is being addressed: UrFU teachers are now improving their English in the University Center of Language Excellence.
