UrFU Lecturer Became the Laureate of the International Award Philanthropist

Lecturer in the History of Art of UrFU Institute of Humanities and Arts Aleksey Filatov became the winner of the international award Philanthropist. The award is presented to disabled people for outstanding achievements in the field of culture and art. Aleksey Filatov recieved a special prize "Overcoming. Beyond Limits" for his projects in painting.

Aleksey Filatov lost his sight, but he is fighting with illness and implements creative projects in many venues of the country. For example, recently, he successfully performed at the National conference "Museum Programs for the Blind and Visually Impaired" in St. Petersburg, where he presented the project "Art at your fingertips" as one of the co-authors. The project is implemented in Ekaterinburg by the Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with the Martirosyan Correctional School in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. Aleksey Yurevichand the staff of museum are working with blind children.

"The achieved results are only the beginning of a great work, which eventually opens the door for any visitors to museums, including the blind, - says Aleksey Filatov. – We will look at the pictures for a little longer and in a little bit different way with the help of models and embossed graphic sheets."
