The opening of the Vienna Music Film Festival gathered 3000 people

The three-week festival has started

The opening of the VII Vienna Music Film Festival took place in front of Ural Federal University on June 28. Despite the rain, 3000 people came to see Russia's first live performance of the famous musical group «BartolomeyBittmann, the tour dates of which are scheduled the year ahead.

Cellist Matthias Bartholomew and violinist and mandolinist Clemens Bittman presented their most famous compositions. Musicians create musical mix of jazz, classical, pop and folk music. 

“For three weeks we will meet with the best musical creations from all over the world, both classical and modern,” - said the honorary consul of the Republic of Austria in Ekaterinburg, General Director of UMMC Andrey Kozitsin.

The Rector of Ural Federal University Victor Koksharov also noted popularity of the event: "Vienna Music Film Festival has become not just a tradition, but the most striking event of the summer in our the city. Thousands of people come to Ural Federal University, to enjoy the best concerts and music films on the big screen and Austrian cuisine. You do not have to wear evening dress, just feel free and think only about music."

The three-week program of the VII Vienna Music Film Festival will include live performance of the winner of international competitions, pianist Timofey Dolya, video concert of Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann and Thomas Hampson, Patricia Kaas, "Evgeny Onegin" ballet, opera "The Queen of Spades", "The Marriage of Figaro" , James Blunt’s video concert, classic production of "Sleeping beauty" by Tchaikovsky, hits from Hollywood movies by the Symphony orchestra of the Vienna radio, Russian and Soviet musical cartoons and more.

Before the opening of the Vienna Festival, the Rector Victor Koksharov has met the ambassador of the Austrian Republic in the Russian Federation Emil Brix. They discussed the development of science in Russia and Austria.
