UrFU scientists will develop new methods of rare-earth metals extraction

Specialists of UrFU Institute of Physics and Technology will receive 300 million rubles for the creation of a new method for extracting rare-earth metals

These developments can provide import substitution in six industries: radio electronics, instrument-making, nuclear engineering, machine building, chemical industry, metallurgy.

The first 100 million rubles the experts will receive this year within the framework of the federal target program "Research and development on priority directions of scientific-technological complex of Russia for 2014-2020".

The project "Development of industrial technology and the associated extraction of rare-earth metals and scandium from technological solutions during the yield of uranium by in-situ leaching in order to improve the efficiency of processing of uranium ores middlings, and meet the growing demand and import substitution of rare-earth metals and scandium in radio electronics, instrument-making, nuclear engineering, machine building, chemical industry, metallurgy»  is headed by a director of UrFU Institute of Physics and Technology Vladimir Richkov.
