UrFU invites high-school students to “taste the university” again

Starting from October 1 Ural Federal University launches the large-scale “Test-Drive” project that has become extremely important among highschoolers during the last 2 years.

 According to the experts in the sphere of education great success the project has had allows to say that the university takes a leading position in the area of working with prospective students and pre-university education.

 Many experts underline that Ural Federal University actively employs the most up-to-date instruments to attract the attention of schoolchildren, their parents and teachers.

 Talented schoolchildren from Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Tadjikistan, Kirgizia and Uzbekistan will have a chance to “taste” the university during their winter break on January 9-10, 2015.

 There will be several stages of the project:

        1 stage. Registration of teams of 3-5 high school students headed by their teacher will open via testdrive.urfu.ru on October 1, 2014 and will last until October 31, 2014.

        2 stage. Creative competition. Participants will make a presentation on the subject «Higher education. High Quality. Accessible. For me”. Open Internet voting will choose best teams. Winners will become the participants of the on-site stage of the action.

        3 stage. 350 schoolchildren will visit the university for 2 days during the winter break to get acquainted with UrFU, lecturers, research infrastructure, creative groups, attend lectures and seminars and have a chance to visit the classes together with UrFU first-year students. The cultural program includes sightseeing and the university tour, as well as meetings with the university’s creative and sport teams.

Schoolteachers accompanying the teams will be able to undertake professional development courses for free within the frames of the Teachers Congress. During their stay in Ekaterinburg students will tell about their experiences in social networks.

After the end of the action school students will have a chance to tell about their great experience during the large closing event.
