Students-volunteers provided psychological assistance to internally displaced persons from Ukraine

Children and their parents had the opportunity to participate in art-therapy classes

Members of the volunteer student team of the Ural branch of the Center of emergency psychological aid of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, UrFU students, organized a class on the psychology of life safety for children from Ukraine.

Children and their parents had the opportunity to participate in art-therapy classes such as paper craft,  thread graphics, sand therapy and ethno therapy. Psychologists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations often use these techniques in working with younger children: drawing, making crafts and modeling are not only effective, but also allow you to work with the effects of psychological trauma very gently. For children of school age psychologists conducted training aimed at the communication.

"The majority of our citizens perceive peaceful sky above as a matter of course, it's hard for them to imagine what does a person feels, when caught in the crossfire or being forced to leave his or her home to escape the bombings, -  tells a member of a volunteer team, UrFU student Anna Kukarskikh. - We hope that our classes will benefit children from Ukraine, and they will get used to the new place, find new friends and get involved into school life."

Classes were held in a temporary settlement for internally displaced persons,  which is located in the Upper Salda.
