The cycling routes for the traditional "May Walk" has been approved

The start point is the monument to the founders of the city and the finish is in Academic District.

The organizers have agreed on the plan for the cycling day of the XXXII May Walk.

"The plan has already been approved, the maps are being printed," said Victor Grokhovsky, the Professor of UrFU and one of the founders of the "May Walk."

The routes will start from the monument to the founders of the city and finish in Academic District. According to the tradition, there will be two distances - 30 and 50 km. The route goes along Lenina Avenue towards VIZ District, through Malokonny peninsula and then - past Crystalnaya village. The big route goes across the forest to the Medny village, the small one - through the Michurinsky village. The event will start on May 31 from 7:00 to 10:00.

This year over 5,000 citizens walked along the hiking routes. Only the strongest ones managed to finish the walk under the heavy rain. According to the weather forecast, on May 31the weather is going to be sunny and warm. The temperature will vary from +23 to +29 degrees, so the organizers are waiting for a greater number of participants.

The cyclists can register in advance and fill in the registration form online. It is important to print the form and bring it to the start in order to avoid standing in the queue.

"May Walk" is the most massive sport event in Ekaterinburg. It is held every May under the motto "Test yourself!" It has two stages for participants on foot and on bicycles. Everyone can participate regardless of age, fitness level, political views, social and marital status.

Organizers: Sports tourist club of Ekaterinburg, Ural Federal University, experts of the Governance of the Development of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Administration of Ekaterinburg. The project is supported by the Ministry of Physical Culture, Sport and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk region. The first "May Walk" was held in Sverdlovsk on May 20, 1984.
