Young scientists of the university have formed four working groups to implement changes

The head of the Ministry of Education of Russia Dmitry Livanov approved the transformation into a research university

Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation gave a positive assessment of the changes that will transform Ural Federal University into a research university. The meeting of Dmitry Livanov, UrFU rector Victor Koksharov and the head of the supervisory board of the university Dmitry Pumpyansky was held this week in Moscow.

Changes will be performed by the young members of the academic staff: according to the results of a strategy session, researchers not older than 35 years will be included in the four working groups. The session was dedicated to the transformation into a research university and was conducted by the experts of Moscow School of Management "Skolkovo".

According to the road map of the university, by 2020, 90% of UrFU lecturers will be involved in scientific research: the will publish works in international scientific journals, patent their inventions and attract grants to the university.

The participants of the meeting, representatives of UrFU administration, institutes and personnel reserve of vice-rectors and directors of institutes, note that science has already brought university income comparable with studies.

According to the Rector, the members of the Supervisory Board will inform lecturers about the upcoming changes. "In  June meeting of the Academic Council of the University will be attended by members of the Supervisory Board, among them - the chairman of the Council, the Heads of TMK, Dmitry Pumpyansky; Senator of the Federation Council, Arkady Chernetsky; Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Alexander Povalko", - said Victor Koksharov.
