UrFU students became the winners of the International Competition «IT-Planet 2014/15"

Nikita Velgin and Ilya Bobrishev took second and third place in the competition organized by Cisco company

Students of UrFU Institute of Radio Electronics and Information Technologies Nikita Velgin and Ilya Bobrishev became winners of the finals of the VIII International Olympiad «IT-Planet 2014/15." They took second and third place in the competition organized by Cisco «Technology of data transmission in local and global networks."

"The competition task had to be performed in the environment of networking equipment Cisco Packet Tracer emulation, - says Ilya Bobrishev. - All participants were given the same network topology, which had to be set up on the instructions of the organizers. At the end of the task it was necessary to reasch seven Web servers, where the photos of monuments and landmarks of St. Petersburg were posted".

According to the student, he took third place for the second year in a row -  last year he also won the bronze medal.

The competitions were held in St. Petersburg on May 22-25. There were 48 winners in 16 competitions organized by different companies: SKB Kontur, Cisco, Oracle, InterSystems, Huawei and others. This year 300 students from 103 from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan participated in the finals of the competition. The finalists were selected by the organizers during the whole academic year.

We would like to remind that “IT-Planet” is a large-scale educational project, implementation of which involves both government agencies and the business community of information technologies, as well as educational institutions. Olympics program includes competitions, educational and cultural activities.
