The largest "open-air cinema" in the city is opened

During 18 days the citizens and guests of Ekaterinburg will enjoy the musical works of Vienna Festival.

Traditional Vienna Music Film Festival starts on the 24 June, at 20:00, at the square in front of Ural Federal University, which is a co-organizer of this event.

An Austrian musician Markus Schirmer, already well-known to the public of the Urals, will take part in the opening ceremony. This year he will present his live musical project "Scurdia".

From June 24 to July 11, the residents and guests of Ural capital will enjoy the music of the Weimar Republic period presented by Jonas Kaufmannand Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra with JochenRieder as a conductor; London Symphony Orchestra and soprano of Barbara Hannigan conducted by Sir Simon Rattle; Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Zubin Mehta; New York Philharmonic Orchestra with its’ main conductor Alan Gilbert; «Queen» band, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Placido Domingo, Lang Lang and Bryan Ferry.

In addition, the audience will see a unique concert on the Champ de Mars near the Eiffel Tower, which united 220 greatest classical musicians and soloists (Natalie Dessay, Anna Netrebko, Olga Peretyatko, Elīna Garanča, PiotrBeczala are among them)  under the conduction of maestro Daniele Gatti.

The ballet "Golden Horde", created with the participation of Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theatre named after M.Jalil also will be shown on the square in front of the main UrFU building, as well as the ballet "Cinderella" of Mariinsky Theatre, "Il Trovatore" by Giuseppe Verdi with Anna Netrebko, the greatest concert of classical music in the world in the park of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, and a legendary soviet cartoon "The Town Musicians of Bremen".

On June 27 the program of Vienna Music Film Festival will be technically paused. And the venue will host Graduation Ceremony.
