Employees of a gold-mining enterprise of Kyrgyzstan will become UrFU students

The University signed a contract on cooperation with the company "Kyrgyzaltyn"

Ural Federal University signed a contract on cooperation in the field of science and education with one of the leading gold-mining enterprises of Kyrgyzstan - the company "Kyrgyzaltyn".

The contract envisages participation of the University in training and improving of qualification of Kyrgyzaltyn specialists. It also includes participation of UrFU in research and technical development. Much attention will be paid to exchange of information on topical issues concerning the development of the Russian and Kyrgyzstan mining industry.  Besides, joint participation in international projects, publication of scientific studies and holding of academic conferences, training seminars in traditional form or distantly are planned.

According to the head of Department of Metallurgy of heavy non-ferrous metals of UrFU Institute of Material Sciences and Metallurgy, Stanislav Naboychenko, Kirghizia for many years was and still is the true stockroom of precious rare non-ferrous metals.  That is the demand for highly qualified specialists in this field is big.

"Unfortunately after the collapse of the Soviet Union the level of scientific-research works and the quality of specialists’ training in Kyrgyzstan became weaker,” - says Stanislav Naboychenko.  “In the Soviet period our University trained many specialists in the field of the Ministry of Non-Ferrous Metallurgy for the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. Now many of them are already are retired. We understand requests of Kyrgyzstan to support the development of the country in technical, scientific and educational fields and in technology of production of rare earth raw material. We are ready to support Kyrgyzstan".

The "Kyrgyzaltyn" and its partners in joint projects and enterprises produce more than 97% of gold of Kyrgyzstan. It is about 10% of GDP of the Republic, 40% of industrial production and 60% of export. The Kyrgyz Republic ranks the third in gold production among the CIS countries.
