UrFU will improve the skills of engineers from Jordan

The first Vice-Rector of UrFU Sergey Kortov has signed an agreement on cooperation with Tafila Technical University

On Wednesday, the delegation from Tafila Technical University, located in the west of Jordan, visited Ural Federal University. Tafila Technical University is one of the state universities of Jordan with 6500 students. The President of the university Shtaywy S. Abdalla and the first Vice-Rector of UrFU Sergey Kortov have signed the agreement on cooperation.

"We are interested in improving the skills of our engineers in the centers of UrFU, - said Shtaywy S. Abdalla. – In our turn, we offer your students to study in our language center, we already have a successful experience with universities in Belarus".

Sergey Kortov introduced the trends of science and innovation development of UrFU, told about university’s engineering services for industry and start-ups – small innovative enterprises which help to develop specific products. Nowadays there are about 80 such enterprises in UrFU.

"Our teams are able to start businesses, which do not transfer technology industry, but create their own products, particularly in the field of information technology", - added Sergey Kortov.

The delegation from Jordan visited one of the university technology centers, which is producing unique products for industry and new products for the benefit of business partners and additive technology, developing by Regional engineering center (RIC) of UrFU.

The partners also noted that the Kingdom of Jordan is still the "dark horse" for the university: we do not have an experience of cooperation with scientific and educational centers of this Arab state.
