Silver medalists of the European football championship among the universities come back to Ekaterinburg

Soccer women's team of Ural Federal University triumphed at the European Championships

On Thursday, July 30 at 11:10 (flight SU 1410) women's football team of Ural Federal University comes back to Ekaterinburg from Croatia. Our girls became silver medalists of the European Championship, after beating the team of German University of Wurzburg with a score of 2:0.

Men's team also took part in the championship. Our students won Finnish Academy of Alo with a score of 2:1, but yesterday lost to the Spanish team from the University of Almeria with the score 1: 2. As a result our team took the 10th place in the standings.

The key victory our girls held over the team of the University of Montpellier. UrFU team scored 2:1 and became the first team, which was able to beat the French team.

"Concentration, teamwork and desire to win helped us to become silver medalists", - said the team captain, student of UrFU Institute Physics and Technology, Zaliya Gazimova.
