Planning cooperation between UrFU and Iran

Both student and academic-staff exchanges are being planned

Mehdi Sanaei, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, suggested that the exchange of an academic-staff should be organized as well as the student one. This proposal was introduced at the meeting with the University and the Sverdlovsk region authorities.

The first step towards the establishment of the university exchanges suggests inviting a professor of UrFU to deliver lectures on the society and culture of Russia at the University of Teheran. This would support the Iranian-Russian relationship at university level.

Additionally, the Sverdlovsk region and the Iranian province Hamadan have been maintaining close relationship in the industrial field.

The Ambassador also gave a lecture to the students of the International Relations Department.

At present, students of Iran are studying in MA and post-graduate courses at Ural Federal University. Furthermore, there is the Centre of Iranian Research at the UrFU Institute of Social and Political Sciences which possesses educational and fictional literature in the Persian language.

Ural Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia founded in 1920. UrFU is located in Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Ural region, an economic, industrial, scientific and cultural center of Russia. The university is the project office of the Ural Interregional Research and Education Center "Advanced Industrial Technologies and Materials" designed for solving tasks of "Science" National Project.
