Endowment
Endowment Fund of Ural Federal University was created in March 2012. The Fund is a non-profit organization established by natural persons and based on voluntary contributions.
The Endowment Fund's principles of work are quite simple: donators make contributions to provide financial support for the fulfillment of the University’s mission of teaching, learning and research. Some endowment donors designate funds for specific purposes and have a right to control how this money is spent. The fund is overseen by a special board of trustees who decide how to invest the capital to provide the University with a stable income. The endowment's investment income is spent on funding various University development programs, with the principal capital remaining intact.
Total sum of donations aimed to form and replenish the specific capital of UrFU Endowment Fund (March 2019) is

Endowment is vitally important for supporting the university community and is used in a lot of international and Russian universities.
The University's Endowment Fund is not merely a financial help to your alma mater, but is also an investment into training of professional staff for your company's future: those who invest their money in the University's Endowment Fund today will get highly qualified specialists for their laboratories, firms and enterprises tomorrow.
Nowadays the University is becoming the centre for the development of the whole Ural region, so donors contributing to the University's progress also invest in the development of a huge multi-million population area and upgrade their own status.
The relations within the Endowment Fund are clear and mutually beneficial for all sides involved in the process. Participating in the endowment project means that you become a member of a big and tight-knit academic family, even many years on after your graduation.
Victor Koksharov, Rector of Ural Federal University
Endowment is a very important tool for supporting the university community, which has long been used in many international and several Russian universities.
We have started to form the fund in the end of 2011, and it is very important for us that graduates of Ural State University and Ural Polytechnic Institute, as well as long-term partners of the university made their donations. This is the way they help us to solve not only strategic issues, but also invest in the support of talented youth, infrastructure development. These are essential factors allowing Ural Federal University to remain one of the leading universities in Russia and the world. A distinctive feature of the endowment is that only the fund's income are being expended. We set a goal to reach a high level: only the sum larger than 30 million rubles allows to accumulate the funds necessary for the development of the university. We will be grateful for any contribution!
