Kazakhstan, Master's Degree in International Relations
My name is Nurakhmet, I came to UrFU in 2015 in order to get a master's degree in international relations. It turned out to be a great success for me to go through a competition and study at the Department of Theory and History of International Relations of UrFU.
Yekaterinburg met me with a warm September. I liked the forests around and in the city. In the city, I most liked visiting the Vysotsky tower, where we went up to look at the view of the city from a great height. I also recommend everyone walking along the promenade. In winter, we spent a little time on the street, but on New Year's Eve we visited a glacial castle in a town in the city center.
Quickly enough, I was able to find like-minded students. In Yekaterinburg, I still have good, cheerful friends and teachers. I try to keep in touch with my fellow students and friends from the hostel, I always try to invite them to my place. It's always amazing to meet them in the vastness of Russia.
If we talk about what I seized for myself, then you can list a lot. I will only say that the approaches and methods of teaching and research have contributed to successful work upon returning to Kazakhstan.
The most creative and memorable of the teachers was Dmitry Ivanovich Pobedash. He led courses in English. I was extremely surprised by his teaching methods, he talked about such details of the language that none of us even thought about. He also taught us simultaneous translation, which is also an exciting thing in its own way.
You ask, would I advise to study here? Definitely yes, the level of teaching and the conditions for studying, and living in most of the students' houses are excellent.
Thank you so much UrFU and Happy 100th Anniversary!
