The University’s Journal on Tax Reforms Is Included in the Web of Science

The success of “Journal of Tax Reform” secures the university’s key competence in taxation

Journal of Tax Reform, published by the Ural Federal University in cooperation with the Baikal State University, is included in the prestigious international scientific database, Web of Science Core Collection Emerging Sources Citation Index.

According to Vladimir Kruzhaev, the Vice-Rector for Research, the Journal of Tax Reform is UrFU’s fifth publication that was included in Scopus and Web of Science databases.

"The authority of university researchers is growing around the world," - says Kruzhaev. – “Indexing of 18 articles from our journal in the WoS CC database is a great achievement of the university team. We are interested in publishing research from the world’s leading scientists, selecting their works, and having both Russian and foreign experts in the editorial staff".

Journal of Tax Reform has been published in English since 2015. It’s the only journal in Europe on this topic. It publishes three issues per year. The journal’s editor-in-chief, Igor Maiburov, notes that this achievement will enhance the visibility of the publication in the world and will secure the university’s key competence in taxation.

"Entering the Web of Science database is very important for the journal. It means there’s a high demand for it, which will continue to grow in proportion to the indexing of the journal," - says Igor Maiburov. – The department of financial and tax management has existed for about 20 years. We regularly hold tax symposiums, which led us to gain a leading position in the field of taxation. The target audience of the journal is the specialists who are deeply interested in tax research and authorities that incorporate the results of research into the practice of tax reforms.  Such reforms are going on continuously, and we need qualitative research to make them more substantiated and well thought out”.

Previously, the Scopus and Web of Science databases included the following UrFU publications: historical journal Quaestio Rossica, linguistic journal “Problems of onomastics”, chemical journal «Analytics and control», as well as the journal "Economics of the region".
