Young Innovators Gather to Create a Concept of City of The Future

The Forum of Innovative Developers Hackaton 2025 will take place in the University this weekend

On January 27-28, the Forum of Innovative Developers Hackaton 2025 will take place in the University. UrFU will become one of three platforms (the other two are Skolkovo and ITMO), where young innovators can offer ideas for creating the concept of the city of future, which might appear on the territory of the exhibition "Expo-2025".

‘The territory of Expo-2025 in Ekaterinburg is the largest in history; its area will be 555 hectares. The city of the future “Smart City” will be built on the territory of the exhibition, which will continue to exist after 2025,’ informed MK-Ekaterinburg the Head of Expo-2025 Bid Committee Svetlana Sagaydak. ‘We will organize this Hackaton in order to get as many advanced ideas as possible; the best of them will become the concept of this city, where technologies for happiness will be created.’

20 teams will gather at UrFU (they will participate in two areas - IT and contest of ideas). In total, Hackaton will bring together 125 teams that will offer ideas and present their developments in ten topics: security, transportation, energy, culture and entertainment, education, new technologies in construction, finance, Internet of goods for the city and home, ecology and medicine. The best projects will be introduced to authorities and representatives of big business. Money prize is one million rubles.

The organizer of the forum is the bid committee Expo-2025, which promotes the application of Ekaterinburg to host the world exhibition.
