University Unites the Graduation Ceremony with the Ural Night of Music

The Rectorate of Ural Federal University and the organizers of the international festival "Ural Music Night" agreed to unite their efforts in conducting the final part of the graduation ceremony and the main musical night of the country. Both events will be held on June 29. The special stage will be located in front of the main building of the university.

‘Traditionally, the first part of the graduation will take place in UrFU institutes, where the graduates receive mantles and academic caps and celebrate with the lecturers," says Victor Koksharov, the Rector of UrFU. ‘Then, the official ceremony with presentation of diplomas for six thousand of our graduates and academic caps throwing. This year the third part will be combined with the Ural Music Night."

The final part of UrFU Graduation Ceremony in a new format was held in 2012 for the first time, and has become one of the significant summer events in Ekaterinburg.

‘Combining such important events for the city (UrFU Graduation Ceremony and Ural Music Night) is not only a new point on the map of the festival, but also an excellent opportunity to celebrate graduation in one the shortest nights of the year. For our part, we will do our best to make the graduation night bright and memorable,’ said Evgeny Gorenburg, director of the Ural Music Night.

Ural Music Night is an annual city festival that unites different styles of music and different styles of people. For one night Ekaterinburg turns into a large concert venue. It is the fastest growing music festival in the world. The first Music Night was held in 2015 and immediately attracted 80 thousand people. In 2016, the number of sites where musicians performed increased from 40 to 70, and the total audience almost doubled and exceeded 120 thousand people.
