UrFU Women’s Futsal Team Places 5th in European Championship

The athletes defeated the Norwegian university team

Yesterday Ural Federal University women’s futsal team took part in the consolation final game of the European Universities Women’s Footsal Championship 2019 (Braga, Portugal). Our team’s rival in the battle for the fifth place were the representative of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The game was held in the UMinho Sport Complex.

Each of the rivals played the first half quite aggressively, and by the thirteenth minute there were three goals scored by our team’s competitors. The first goal in our favor was scored by Snezhana Kobeleva. The second half of the game was a turning point; as a result, the UrFU team won with a score of 5:4. According to the results of the European tournament, our athletes took the fifth place.

The team wishes to express gratitude to the Ministry of Physical Education and Sports of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Ural Federal University Administration, the Center for Team Sports Training, and Evgeny Shurmanov, Acting Director of the Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Youth Policy, for the opportunities provided to the university’s women’s futsal team.
