“Island 10-22” Experts Highly Appreciate UrFU’s Ideas

The team presented the conceptions of the Scientific and Educational Center and Digital University

Concept of the Ural World-class Interregional Scientific and Educational Center, presented by UrFU’s team at the intensive educational course “Island 10-22”, which took place in Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, was ranked fourth after the public hearing. A special certificate was given for the presentation of the Scientific and Educational Center.

The concept of digital transformation of the university was highly appreciated by the organizers of the course, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the professional community. According to Daniil Sandler, Vice-Rector for Economics and Strategic Development of Ural Federal University, the concept is part of a wider program of changes in the university, which takes into account markets and areas of activity in the long term and in the context of the digital transformation of the society.

‘The university’s team completed its job,’ said Sandler. ‘We signed 31 agreements that will help the university realize key projects and programs. The success of the team is the success of the whole university, because they were relying on UrFU’s significant achievements in various fields.’

Daniil Sandler also presented a report on the university’s management system development, the key points of which, such as increasing the scope of students’ participation in the teaching process, were noted by the experts. As a result, Daniil Sandler became “The most useful islander”: every day the participants named three speakers that were the most useful in terms of solving actual professional problems, and UrFU’s Vice-rector received the biggest number of votes.

The intensive educational course “Island 10-22” was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, University “20.35”, ANO Platform STI, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Skolkovo Foundation, RVC, ANO Digital Economy and EdCrunch.

The goal of the intensive course is to involve Russian universities in the transformation of the education system providing technological breakthrough. The course gathered 100 university teams led by rectors of universities from 72 regions of the country, including UrFU, as well as teams of potential scientific and educational centers, entrepreneurs, scientists and government representatives.
