Architects From Around the World Will Show How to Compute Buildings’ Models

An international contest coinciding University’s Centenary will be held in October 2020

In October 2020, an international contest of projects of young scientists and students for educational and sports buildings and structures using digital technologies (BIM) will be held in Ekaterinburg. The contest coincides with the centennial anniversary of the Ural Federal University.

The initiative to hold this event was made by the head of the Department of Automated Design Systems for Construction Projects of Institute of Construction and Architecture of Ural Federal University Vladimir Alekhin. He announced this proposal at the ParisTech University at the General Assembly of the European Civil Engineering Education and Training Association (EUCEET).

“The competition will serve the development of interdisciplinary communications of young scientists and students through the exchange of knowledge, research results and experience in applying advanced information technologies in architecture, construction and design in the process of solving a multi-component design problem; youth involvement in solving real problems of creating a comfortable urban environment; positioning the university in an international context, ”said Vladimir Alekhin in his discourse.

This initiative was unanimously supported by the delegates of the General Assembly.

In addition, in his speech, Vladimir Nikolaevich spoke about the upcoming VI International Forum of High-Rise and Special Construction 100+ Forum Russia in Ekaterinburg (October 29 - November 1 2019), as well as UN Habitat World Cities Day on October 31, in the preparation and conduct of which actively involved in the Institute of Construction and Architecture.
