Scholars Look into Perspective Trends in Neuroscience and Neurotechnologies

Ural Federal University opens Cognitive Neuroscience 2019 Forum.

For the second time, the Ural Federal launched the international forum Cognitive Neuroscience 2019 at the Yeltsin Presidential Center. Within two days, leading world scientists in the field of psychology, neurology, neurobiology and neuropsychology will discuss the prospects for the development of their sciences and share their research in plenary and breakout sessions.

“For us it is very pleasant that this forum is getting attractive not only for scientists who are engaged in cognitive neuroscience, but also for technologists, information specialists, engineers - the people who create the world in which you and I have to live. The university traditionally supports all new breakthrough trends, and the neurocognitive trend has recently become one of those,” said the First Vice-Rector of UrFU Sergey Kortov.

According to the First Vice-Rector Kortov, neurocognitive technologies have long passed the highly professional level, and today it is important to reflect on two big questions - who is an individual in a constantly changing modern world, and what should the world be, so that it is comfortable and understandable for this individual.

“I hope that these two questions will be answered during the discussions that are scheduled at the forum. I urge you not to be limited only to scientific work, but also to think about using your developments for the needs of our society,” adds Sergey Kortov.

This year the program of the event is diverse. In addition to plenary and section reports, speeches of famous experts in the field neuroscience, also, events will be held during the forum that will allow everyone to see how neuroscience and neurotechnology are developing at the Ural Institute of Humanities. This is a cognitive marathon, where students of all ages present their developments, and Science Slam, where five scientists will talk about their research in an accessible and understandable way.
