Russian-Chinese Center for the Development of Digital Engineering Technologies will open soon

The Russian-Chinese Center for the Development of Digital Engineering Technologies is planned to be created in the Chinese city of Zhenjiang. A corresponding agreement was signed between the Ural Federal University and the Research Institute of High-Tech Equipment of Harbin Polytechnic University (Zhenjiang).

The center will be able to provide comprehensive support and implementation of digital economy technologies at engineering enterprises.

“During the report and business meetings, we told the Chinese side about the potential of the Ural Federal and digital engineering. We agreed that we will demonstrate our capabilities, we will promote our developments in the People's Republic of China and adapt them for the Chinese industry,” commented Sergei Kortov, First Vice-Rector of UrFU, after having signed the agreement.

The basis of the work of the new center will be the competencies of the Consulting Center for Digital Engineering Technologies (CCDET), part of the innovative infrastructure of UrFU, which recently opened in Ekaterinburg.

According to Maksim Sapogov, Director-General of CCDET, the Chinese side expressed a high interest in cooperation. Among the technologies that have attracted increased attention of the Chinese side are “digital doubles”, virtual trials. All this is included in the scope of CCDET.

“CCDET will become, in fact, the main contributor in the agreement. I am sure that the competencies, technologies and experience of our specialists will be in demand,”added Maksim Sapogov.

The goal of the Russian-Chinese partnership is to strengthen mutually beneficial innovation and scientific and technical cooperation, promote advanced engineering services and high-tech products to the market, strengthen scientific and technical exchanges, and train highly qualified scientific and engineering personnel.

“It was decided to create a working group that will develop specific proposals for Chinese industrial enterprises. The year 2020 was pronounced the Year of Russia in China, several Russian-Chinese programs, research and industrial projects will be launched. UrFU will take an active part in at least one of the programs,” said Sergei Kortov.

According to the agreement, the parties will cooperate in the field of intelligent production systems, information and communication technologies, new energy sources, design and production of high-tech engineering products, and artificial neural information technologies.
