Abdusalom Khatamov met with students from Uzbekistan

The Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg, Abdusalom Khatamov, wished UrFU students to be responsible for their studies and be active in the extracurricular life of the university. The diplomat also gave some instructions to foreign students of UrFU during a meeting on November 28.

“You are very lucky to study at such a renown university. Show maximum activity in student life. The student period is short; it will last only 4-6 years. During this time - I ask you, based on your experience - have time to do a great many of things. Indeed, depending on how active you will show best traits and talents, people will assess the same Uzbekistan and you all” says Abdusalom Khatamov. - Therefore, I urge you to be more active, to participate in the life of the university, in official meetings and creative events. For its part, the consulate will provide maximum assistance in resolving your issues.”

In addition, students were invited to participate in joint projects of the Sverdlovsk region and Uzbekistan. The Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the region Vasilii Kozlov spoke about new areas of cooperation between the region and the republic.

The meeting was also attended by the head of the Representative Office of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Ekaterinburg, Alexandr Kharlov, Human Rights Ombudswoman in the Sverdlovsk Region Tatyana Merzlyakova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at UrFU Sergey Knyazev, and the Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Department of the Administration of Ekaterinburg Maksim Dokuchaev.
