UrFU Develops the Academic Exchange Network with Partners in France

Representatives of the Department of International Educational Programs of Ural Federal University visited several partner universities in France

Department of International Educational Programs of Ural Federal University (DEIP) visited partner universities in France.

In particular, the UrFU representatives visited CEFAM (French-American Business School) in Lyon, IGS Group (International Graduate School). Ural Federal University and CEFAM already cooperate in academic exchange: in spring 2020 Sergey Polbitsyn from the Institute of Public Administration and Entrepreneurship will work at CEFAM for a week. UrFU and CEFAM also have an Erasmus+ network agreement: 3rd-year student at Graduate School of Economics UrFU Ekaterina Malkova is currently studying at CEFAM with Erasmus+ support, and another student is going to start her semester in France in January 2020. In the end of the visit, CEFAM and UrFU signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

Another visit was paid to Ense3 (National Engineering School of University of Grenoble) where representatives of Ural Federal University were introduced to various laboratories. Ense3 and the Department of International Educational Programs UrFU discussed internship opportunities for French students in the area of Machine Learning, Energy and Computer Sciences.

The next destination was ICD Business School in Paris, where both sides discussed future possibilities for Double Degree Master Programs.

In the end of the trip colleagues from Ural Federal University had a meeting with students of ENSEA Engineering School in Cergy. ENSEA has been partner of Ural Federal University for 5 years, since 2015 ENSEA students have been coming to UrFU for 4-month internship in Data Analysis. This year 10 French students have completed their project work together with Chelpipe Plant and Knopka IT Company. From 2020 Department of International Educational Programs will offer two tracks for the Internship: Data Analysis and Machine Learning in Power Industry, where group of students will be working on the real tasks offered by partner companies and industries of UrFU in the Region.

We are very thankful for organized campus tour and meetings with students – this helps us to understand better what we can offer to our universities and students in future. With some partners we actively cooperate with within Erasmus network in student and staff mobility and working towards increasing the number of French and Russian academics and students who can have this unique international and practical opportunity", says Iana Vysotskaia, Director of the Department of International Educational Programs UrFU.
