COVID-19 introudces changes to university's life

Ural Federal University is completing the transition of students to distance learning. According to the plan for the organization of the educational process, from March 23 to April 12 with full-time extension (without visiting educational buildings) full-time students move on.

The directors of UrFU institutes responsible for the organization of the transition, specialists in organizational and technical support, teachers and students were sent relevant methodological recommendations.

So, students need to enter their personal account on the UrFU portal using a corporate account and, using the built-in communication tools, master a module or discipline, following the instructions of the teacher. They also have online courses on the national platform of open education and cloud services of the university.

“Distance learning is only another means of learning,” recalls the rector of UrFU Victor Koksharov. - Students will continue to fully master educational programs. To answer the questions raised by students, their parents, teachers and staff, a hotline has been opened.”

For the effective organization of the educational process using distance learning technologies, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has compiled a list of online courses that are implemented for free. The list posted on the website of the department includes 52 online courses of Ural Federal University.

As previously reported, since Sunday, university leaders have been participating in the activities of all-Russian working groups to organize the transition to distance learning, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, leading universities and high-tech companies.

In order to protect the health of students, employees of educational and scientific organizations in connection with the unfavorable situation for a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov signed an order recommending the organization of training for students outside the location of universities, including to ensure that they master educational programs using e-learning and distance learning technologies. Relevant recommendations are contained in the decree of the governor of the Sverdlovsk region.
