Both Russian and foreign students can get a job they were trained for

We continue to share news about students who got jobs at the Ural Federal University. Such success stories are truly international, as students from various countries can apply for work at the university. This allows many of them to dive even deeper into their profession and do science.

Now, a fourth-year student from Chemistry program of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of Ural Federal University, Roman Yagovitin, has been working as a laboratory assistant in the laboratory of chemical design of new multifunctional materials since February.

“The subject of my scientific work is connected with the study of the thermodynamic properties of oxide materials,” says Roman. “In particular, my final qualifying work is devoted to the study of the thermodynamics of the formation and disordering of cobaltite neodymium-barium.”

The new employee adds that he manages to combine study and work, and these activities well complement each other.

“In the process of training, I acquire valuable skills and knowledge, which allows me to use them in my activities. The main thing is a good balance between study and work, as well as getting pleasure from the processes of training and work," adds Roman.

Another example of employment at UrFU is the undergraduate from Bolivia Sandoval Balderrama Alfredo Arturo. Now he is in his first year at the Institute of Construction and Architecture of Ural Federal University (Neoindustrial Design program). Since November, he has been working as a research engineer at the Department of Architecture.

“At the moment, I’m conducting a study on the use of energy-saving technologies in two different climate countries: Russia and Bolivia,” says Arturo. - Very often, successfully working technologies that have proved their effectiveness are copied by other countries, but do not produce the same results. We plan to consider the design features of energy-efficient buildings using real-life examples built in each country with a different climate.”

In the practical part, Arturo intends to develop a project for an individual residential building that could work effectively both in Russia and in Bolivia, since the energy costs for heating in Russia and the costs for air conditioning in Bolivia are comparable. In addition, he helps the department staff to carry out design work in the programs Autocad, vector Word, Autocad Civil, Revit, SketchUp. He also makes drawings and drawings for the new undergraduate study guide “Fundamentals of Architecture and Building Constructions”.

“I am absolutely taken by this work. It is very important for me. I worked for three years to earn money for training, but they quickly melt away. I am very interested in work, because in addition to staying active, I need some source of income to be able to support myself,” adds Arturo.
