The university has risen in the rating "Three missions of the university"

Ural Federal University has advanced in the new Moscow international ranking of universities "Three missions of the university". UrFU managed to climb four positions in the world ranking (286th place) and one - in Russia (10th position).

In 2020, the “Three University Missions” rating became the most representative in the world - for the first time the number of universities in the published list reached 1500. It represents educational institutions from 97 countries, including 101 Russian universities.

The Moscow International University Ranking is a fundamentally new academic ranking, which for the first time evaluates all three key missions of the university: education, science and interaction with society.

“Undoubtedly, the growth of the university's position in the ranking, both in Russia and at the international level, is a serious achievement for us,” comments Ural Federal University Rector Viktor Koksharov. - This rating significantly reduces the influence of subjective factors when assessing universities. Every year it becomes more and more authoritative in the world, and at the same time the recognition of Russian universities is growing. And, of course, it is important that the rating assesses the impact of universities on society, their contribution to the development of a particular city, region, country, how well universities manage to meet the key challenges and trends of the modern world. "

The initiative to create the rating was supported by the leading universities in Russia, China, India, Iran, Turkey, and Japan. Its methodology has passed a large-scale public discussion in Russia and abroad, in which over 100 universities took part. The rating's expert council includes 25 experts from 16 countries. This is the first global ranking that looks at the university's third mission. Thanks to its fundamental novelty, MosIUR was highly praised by experts.

The rating methodology takes into account only objective criteria approved by international experts. Reputation surveys are completely excluded. Moreover, the spectrum of information sources is much wider than those traditionally used in existing popular ratings.

The formation of the rating "Three University Missions" was initiated by the Russian Union of Rectors in accordance with the instructions of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
