Graduate School of Economics and Management Finishes a School on International Management

On November 17 seven national teams of GSEM students from Indonesia, Ecuador, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China and Pakistan demonstrated their video presentations about their own culture to the jury members

Jury panel was also completely international and included GSEM administration, faculty members, researchers and international alumni from Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, Nigeria, Tajikistan and Russia.  

The presented videos cover many cultural aspects of each country such as history, art, traditions, food, rules of etiquette and general characteristics of nations. The videos are available at GSEM YouTube channel - we invite everybody to visit, watch and enjoy international cultural diversity!

We congratulate all teams! According to the jury members feedback, all presented videos are really encouraging and inspiring, they reflect the spirit of each culture and the love of students for their homelands.  Prof. Zhanna Belyaeva, the head of International Economics and Business program, congratulated all the participants. 

“I am glad to be a part of this amazing project, which obviously enriched our knowledge about all these counties”, - said Prof. Zhanna Belyaeva. 

One of the Fest tutors prof. Elizaveta Golousova commented on the event:

“Thank you for your job and for providing us with a chance to travel online within a short period of time.  It has been a wonderful project indeed. I feel humbled to be part of it. All the teams managed to organize little online trips to their home countries”. 

The team of Azerbaijan presented by GSEM students Sakhila Nabieva (International and corporate management), Gyunai Samedzade (State and Municipal Administration), Tarlan Suleymanova (Applied Economics and Finance) and Arzu Karimova (International Economics and Business) has been voted as the winners of InCulture Fest-2020 based on the total points of the jury members. 

“On behalf of the entire Azerbaijani team, we would like to thank the organizers of the wonderful InCulture festival! Thank you for this opportunity to learn not only about your country even more, but also about the interesting culture of other countries Also, many thanks to the tutors who helped us create the video presentation! Thank you for your time! International Festival InCulture helped us meet new faces and make friends. Despite the fact that the festival was online, we could feel many positive emotions said the members of the winning team”, - said Sakhila Nabieva.

The members of the other six national teams have also been awarded with the following nominations: Indonesia - “Powerful engagement team”, Ecuador - “The best empathy team”, Vietnam team - “Mindfulness team”, Afghanistan – “The most inviting presentation”, China – “Love for the country”, Pakistan – “The most spiritual video”. 

All the teams express gratitude to the organizers of the Fest, the tutors and experts for opportunities to enrich their knowledge in cultural issues of each country and improve skills in video making and online team work.  

“I'm very pleased to be part of this festival. It was great experience and knowledgeable to see and enjoy different cultures. Love for faculty of GSEM for organising such an amazing festival”, said Anique Javaid, GSEM master student of International Management from Pakistan.

“This fest taught me how to collaborate effectively. From the tutors and experts, I learned to concept and make an amazing video promotion. Hence, participation in this event enriched my knowledge about other cultures and a great opportunity to introduce my country”, noted Febry Wijayanti, GSEM PhD student from Indonesia.
