"Cross-Country Race of the Nation" Was Held on the Site of the University

University students of Ekaterinburg joined the races

On September 18, the Cross-Country Race of the Nation took place on the square in front of the main building of Ural Federal University. It was timed to coincide with the International University Sports Day and the official start of the FISU World University Summer Games 2023 volunteer program.

Students from 22 higher education institutions took part in time-limited races. At the FISU venue, the participants were introduced to the ambassador of the student games in Ekaterinburg - Ural Federal University graduate and Tokyo Olympic champion David Belyavsky.

The Cross-Country Race of the Nation is a geographically large-scale event. In 2021, the race was held in 85 regions of Russia. The aim of the event is to attract students to physical training, athletics and popularization of healthy lifestyle.

Ekaterinburg became the central venue of the International University Sports Day in Russia - the All-Russian Student Festival took place on September 17-20 in the Ural Federal University. The event is supported by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Russian Student Sports Union (RSSU), the Sverdlovsk Region Government and UrFU.
