Yulia Tokareva: "This Is a Very Good Time to Understand Yourself"

Psychologist conducted an educational intensive for Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems students

The moment that we are all living now is actually very resourceful and perfect for self-discovery, believes Yulia Tokareva, head of the Department of Personnel Management and Psychology at the Ural Institute of Humanities of the UrFU. Now we can better understand not only what we are, but also see the expressions of other people, the expert believes.

Yulia Tokareva talked to the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems students about how to manage themselves and, therefore, the reality around them. The educational intensive "New Time - New Opportunities" started, which will also be attended by companies-employers: Kontur, Ural Center of Security Systems, State Enterprise Scientific Production Association Of Automation, Artsofte and others.  Lectures of the partners will last till the middle of April.

"Now is the time for us to find new friends, like-minded people, to become united, to be more communicative and flexible, to reveal all we have in us. Self-development, awareness and responsibility are becoming one of the key aspects. Many people are afraid of responsibility. Aware of what we do, we are responsible for it and understand how our actions will affect others. That is why conscious and responsible people today are the most successful people," says the psychologist.

Speaking about how to manage oneself, the expert noted that it is necessary to look at which area one wants to do this - emotional, behavioral or mental. When there is an understanding of which area to work with, it is important to understand the result that one wants to achieve. At this point, it is already possible to look for recommendations on how to solve the problem.

"We perceive the world based on our mental states, on what we have inside. Therefore, the answer to the question of how to manage ourselves and reality with this is related to the correct perception of the world," Tokareva noted.
