The representatives of the Finnish Aalto University completed another module of the seminar “UrFU: Strategic Leadership”, which was held for the top management of Ural Federal University

During the lectures the issue of implementation of UrFU strategy to enhance the global competitiveness was touched upon. Finnish experts shared their experience of the successful merger of universities and told Russian colleagues about the peculiarities of the development strategy correct alignment.

On the first day of the seminar the speech was delivered by Dr. Esa Ahonen, who spoke about the major structures, processes and concept systems of Aalto University management. During the remaining days of the second module of the seminar “Strategic Leadership in the University Context”, the lectures were conducted by Dr. Pekka Matilla.

The participants of the seminar noted the high quality of teaching, which was demonstrated by the representatives of Aalto University. According to UrFU the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Sergei Knyazev, Aalto University experience is very useful and will help to avoid unnecessary errors in the future.

"It was a very useful educational module. The way the material was delivered was really interesting. The issues discussed during the seminar were highly relevant. Our Finnish colleagues shared their experience of similar actions that Aalto University has almost implemented, - said Sergei Knyazev. - It is very important to develop the right strategies for the transition and development of the university. As it is known, Aalto University is moving very fast in the world rankings, becoming the best university in Finland. Our University is an ambitious goal - to become one of the top international universities."

The final module of the seminar “UrFU: Strategic Leadership” will be held in April and will focus on how the environment affects the opportunities for the university.
