UrFU centers of research excellence are recognized to be university growth drivers

Next year the share of foreign professors in Ural Federal University should reach 4%. The ways to achieve this number had been discussed by the participants of the strategy session, held at the university.

UrFU centers of research excellence are recognized to be the drivers of university development, which can help to enhance global competitiveness of the university.

"There are such regions in the world, in which there are a lot of strong academics, but there aren’t any strong universities. Well-developed research infrastructure, the latest training equipment, talented students – that's what attracts world famous scientists to our university,” - said UrFU rector Viktor Koksharov.

Work on a new reception, rebranding and introduction of a new financial model in the institutes have been recognized as successful by the participants of the session, the representatives of the rector, heads of institutions and invited experts.

We would like to remind that UrFU is one of the 15 leading universities of Russia, which became the participants of the program of enhancing competitiveness among global research and education centers. The so-called "5-100-2020" program was developed in order to help Russian universities (at least five universities) to get into the world's best educational institutions before 2020.
