Ural Federal University and Cisco plan to create a joint innovation center

The new center will be the third in Russia and the second - on the basis of the higher education institution

On March 2, 2015 at 14:00 Rector of Ural Federal University Victor Koksharov and Cisco CEO for strategy and business development in Russia and CIS Lev Levin will sign a letter of intent to open innovation center. The center will contribute to the improvement of IT education through the development of current and future competencies. One of the first projects to be implemented in it is creating solutions in the direction of "smart" production.

Signing of the agreement will be held in the office of the rector in the main building of UrFU (Mira, 19).

We would like to note that Ural Federal University has impressive experience of cooperation with Cisco. In December 2014, the second Cisco Academy was opened on the base of UrFU Institute of Radio Engineering and Information Technologies, where the specialists of international level in the field of network technologies are being trained.

Ural Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia founded in 1920. UrFU is located in Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Ural region, an economic, industrial, scientific and cultural center of Russia. The university is the project office of the Ural Interregional Research and Education Center "Advanced Industrial Technologies and Materials" designed for solving tasks of "Science" National Project.
