Researchers from Mexico are ready to develop science in collaboration with the Ural colleagues

The Director of International Programs of the University of Monterrey visited Ural Federal University

The topic of effective cooperation in the field of science became the key one during the visit of Thomas M. Buntru Wenzler. The Director of International Programs of the University of Monterrey met with the Rector of UrFU Victor Koksharov, the Vice-Rector for International Relations Maxim Khomyakov, the Vice-Rector for Research Vladimir Kruzhaev and expressed great interest in the further development of relations between two universities. In addition to the exchange system, which already functions, he suggested to develop joint scientific research projects.

“The student exchange is a good start. We would also like to expand cooperation by establishing academic staff exchange and joint research projects, - said Thomas M. Buntru Wenzler. – At the moment, we are just in the beginning of the way to the development of scientific function of the university, so we are interested in cooperation in this field. Next year we will run several PhD programs. Our university has the accreditation of the South Association of colleges and schools and we are doing our best to meet the highest standards. We will develop cooperation with the Russian universities, including Ural Federal University. It is important for us to establish broad links; we are not concentrating only on America or Western Europe”.

Thomas Buntru Wenzler noted that in 2015 his colleague Laura Pedraza visited the International Week at Ural Federal University, met with students, academic staff of the university. According to her, the communication was very positive and constructive.

 

Currently, 22 students from Mexico are enrolled on Master programs in English at Ural Federal University, one student is studying the Russian language course and one student is participating in exchange program. Moreover, the academic staff of UrFU Institute of Social and Political Sciences includes a lecturer from Mexico, Gallegos Rubio Irving.
