Emil Brix will participate in the official opening of the Vienna Music Film Festival 2016

Ambassador of Austria to Russia Emil Brix will visit Ekaterinburg to participate in the opening of the Vienna Music Film Festival 2016, which will take place in front of Ural Federal University on June 28. Emil Brix will also hold a meeting with the rector of Ural Federal University Victor Koksharov.

This year, the program of the visit of Emil Brix will include a city tour and visit of the border between Europe and Asia, meeting with officials of the city and region administrations, visit to the Austrian library, Yeltsin Centre and the Church on Blood.

Emil Brix is an expert in art, for several years he was the head of the Austrian Cultural Institute in London, he also worked as a cultural attache of the Austrian Embassy in Warsaw, and in 2008 won the award "New Culture of New Europe" for his contribution to the European culture. Emil Brix is the author of numerous books and scientific papers on the history of culture of Austria and Europe in XIX-XX centuries.

Emil Brix became the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Austrian Republic in Moscow in 2015. He had already visited Ekaterinburg in 2007 in order to participate in the opening of the Austrian library, at this time he was the head of department of culture and politics.

The Vienna Music Film Festival is traditionally held on the square in front of Ural Federal University on June 28 - July 15y. Last year, about 60 thousand spectators visited the festival.
