July 12: The second day was full of important meetings and discussions

One of the most important events of the day became a meeting of the Rector Victor Koksharov with the general director of "Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk" Pyotr Sozonov. The meeting was set up in order to prolong the cooperation agreement, significantly expanding the scope of the agreement. The head of the company said that today only a number of formalities separates UrFU of receiving the title of a strategic partner of Gazprom: the university and the company have prepared all the necessary documents. The University will continue training specialists for one of the leading enterprises of the Russian gas industry.

During the second day of Innoprom Ural Federal University and IBM announced the launch of the Research and Education Center of Competence "Smart Ttechnologies". The memorandum on the establishment of the center was signed by UrFU Rector Victor Koksharov and CEO of IBM in Russia and CIS Andrey Filatov.

"UrFU is our long-term partner with whom we have worked on a range of IT-directions, - says Andrey Filatov. - I am very pleased that with access to the latest IBM technologies, the lecturers and university staff will get new opportunities to create innovative solutions that will certainly find use in the Urals region and beyond."

On July 12, the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, the Rector of Ural Federal University and CEO of the portfolio company of Rosnano "PET Technology" signed an agreement on the establishment of the Cyclotron Nuclear Medicine Center at the university. Nuclear Medicine Center in Ekaterinburg gets the diagnosis of cancer at the earliest stages. Now the center works with radiopharmaceuticals imported from the other region. After establishment of UrFU Cyclotron Nuclear Medicine Center the complete process cycle will be carried out in our region and the number of visitors to the center will increase.

According to Victor Koksharov, the university will not only produce isotopes, but also provide training for specialists of the Nuclear Medicine Center, and, of course, conduct research.

Ural Federal University also continues to develop additive technologies and establish collaboration the most serious foreign partners in this field.

The university signed two important agreements on cooperation with the Chinese partners:  Xinda company and the Institute of High Technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Heilongjiang Province.

The agreement with the company Xindi involves scientific and technological, innovative and educational cooperation for the implementation of joint programs of scientific research and technological development.

The Institute of High Technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Heilongjiang University will become a part of a joint Russian-Chinese laboratory of 3D-printing. The laboratory will manufacture products by metal and polymers 3D-printing, as well as to develop manufacturing equipment for additive technologies.

The panel discussions covered such topics as the invisible capital, business evaluation, development management in urban areas, business informatics, open innovations, etc.
