UrFU Evolves in Innovation and Internalization - Says the National Ranking of Universities

Ural Federal University has risen by six positions in terms of the "Innovation" indicator in the National University Ranking of the Interfax Group published the day before. In the overall ranking, the university retained the 13th place in Russia.

“We have retained a high place among Russian universities and at the same time demonstrated growth in a number of key indicators, such as innovation and internationalization, contributing to the implementation of a set of national goals of Russia, as reflected in the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of July 21, 2020 No. 474,” says the first vice-rector of UrFU Sergey Kortov. - The university pays great attention to the development of the ecosystem in the field of innovation, technological entrepreneurship, the development and implementation of the latest digital technologies at partner enterprises. Many solutions that are being developed at the university today will be implemented in the industries of the future. The establishment of the Ural interregional research and education center "Advanced industrial technologies and materials" was very helpful in relations with industrial partners and the real sector of the economy.

First Vice-Rector Sergey Kortov adds that UrFU pays great attention to training personnel for work in modern digital production. The development of the Urals and the realization of its industrial potential largely depend on this.

In the Interfax rating, the university moved up one position in terms of “Internationalization”, taking 16th place, and retained 11th place in terms of “Socialization”.

“The University has managed to maintain and strengthen its high positions by expanding the number of international partners, increasing the number of foreign students, teachers and scientists,” says Sergey Kurochkin, UrFU, Vice-Rector for International Relations. - Electronic resources for internationalization are actively developing. The number of educational programs in foreign languages ​​is also increasing. In addition, the implementation by the university of social programs for foreign students and postgraduates, as well as the organization of major events at the federal and international level, plays an important role. At the moment, the university is actively involved in preparations for the World Student Games in 2023 in Yekaterinburg. "
