The Rector of the University underlines the importance of discussing the region's development with industry and universities

Since 15 years the Middle Ural has become a territory with a high quality of life and a favorable environment for business development. This is the opinion of the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev. He approved the project of the regional Strategy-2030.

According to the rector of Ural Federal University, Victor Koksharov, it is very important that the residents of the region had developed Strategy 2030 after wide-ranging discussions with the heads of industrial enterprises and universities. The draft of the document is available on the website strategy2030.midural.ru, and any citizen of the Middle Ural can leave comments there.

The region set ambitious goals, notes the regional newspaper "Oblastnaya gazeta”: in 15 years duration of life in the region is expected to increase by 8.6 years (from the current 68.9 years to 77.5); the attractiveness of the investment climate is going to be improved in order to help the Middle Ural to enter the top five regions of Russia.

According to the graduate of the Faculty of Economics of Ural State University (now UrFU), the director of the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg, Sergey Kadochnikov, when competing for the attention of big investors is not enough to provide tax incentives and build engineering infrastructure for new businesses, it is also necessary to have projects, which attract attention.

"Of course, most potential investors are willing to come in those regions where there are no difficulties in finding highly qualified professionals for the new production. A big advantage in this sense is the implementation of the program "Ural Engineering School" in the region and the creation of UrFU "University Technopolis”. Upon successful completion these projects can become something comparable to Skolkovo," - said Sergei Kadochnikov, underlining one of the most important sections of “Strategy-2030”.

Last Friday during the meeting of the Coordinating Council on Strategic Planning, the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev instructed the Ural Institute of regional legislation to begin work on the draft law on the approval of the Strategy of socio-economic development of the Sverdlovsk region up to 2030.
