Vladimir Shur opened Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Center in India

It is planned to conduct research in the field of nanotechnology in collaboration with the colleagues from New Delhi and Xi'an

The director of the Ural Center for Collective Use of UrFU "Modern Nanotechnologies" Vladimir Shur and Professor Sumio Iijima (Meijo University, Japan), the legendary Japanese physicist who was one of the first in the world to study carbon nanotubes, opened the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Center at Jamia Millia Islamia University (New Delhi). The Center is expected to carry out fundamental and applied research on the production of nanodevices, nanomaterials, nanostructures and nanobiotechnology.

‘We will conduct joint research with the colleagues from India and China. Together with Jamia Millia Islamia University and the city of Xi'an in China we have applied for BRICS grant "Physical fundamentals of engineering in the domain of piezoelectric single crystals of PMN-PT the family and lead-free piezoelectric ceramics’, says Vladimir Shur.

For this project a group of Russian researchers led by Vladimir Shur will develop methods of domain engineering and test methods for the visualization of the domain structure by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and confocal Raman microscopy.

In the course of the project, the researchers will pay mutual visits and work on joint publications.
