Leading universities of Mexico are interested in cooperation with the University

New educational programs and research projects will be implemented in collaboration with the universities, which are in the top-50 universities in Latin America

Ural Federal University and three leading Mexican universities develop educational programs in the field of the Russian Philology, Engineering and Humanitarian Sciences, Tourism and Social Work.

The universities reached preliminary agreement on the establishment of joint educational programs and the implementation of graduate and postgraduate programs in several directions in 2014. Development of joint researches is one more perspective of cooperation. The academic staff of one of Mexican universities expressed interest in joint Ph.D. programs.

These decisions were taken in the course of negotiations between UrFU delegation and representatives of Mexican universities: Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla, Universidad del Caribe and Universidad Juarez del Estado de Durango.

The participation in negotiations on the development of partnerships took UrFU Deputy Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Elena Vostretsova, and director of the Institute of International Education, Ekaterina Lyubimova.

"We hope that the cooperation with the leading universities of Mexico will lead to the development of double master degree program system. The Mexican government supports the development of such collaboration through special scholarships. We expect about 30 Mexican students in the first semester of 2014. They will study Master's programs in English; these programs will be implemented by UrFU Institute of International Education in collaboration with other UrFU institutes. Establishing of such partnerships and joint educational programs for foreign students is the priority service of the institute," – Ekaterina Lyubimova.

We would like to remind that this year 44 students of Universidad Juarez del Estado de Durango have already passed the Russian language courses at UrFU during the project "Summer University".

Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla and Universidad Juarez del Estado de Durango are in the top-50 universities in Latin America according to QS rating agency.
