Notable alumni from Kazakhstan has received an award “Recognition 2015”

Last week the Rector Victor Koksharov of Ural Federal University came to Astana and personally presented an award to Nurtai Abykayev, statesman of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of the Kazakhstan National Academy of Natural Sciences, Chairman of the Board of UrFU Alumni Association of Kazakhstan.

Nurtai Abykayev was awarded with a gold sign of Ural Federal University, as well as statuette, which is awarded to outstanding graduates of the university, receiving "Recognition" award. In November 2015, Alumni Association of UPI, USU and UrFU decided to award Nurtai Abykayev with "Recognition 2015" in the nomination "The political and social activity" for the greatest contribution to the advancement of Ural Federal University.

We would like to remind that in 1970 Nurtai Abykayev graduated from the Mechanical Faculty of UPI (now the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Ural Federal University). After graduating, he returned home and was able to achieve significant success in career. With the active support of Nurtai Abykayev in May 2014 Kazakhstan Branch of UrFU Alumni Association was created in Astana. The members of Association unanimously elected Nurtai Abykayev as a chairman of the board. He also made a great contribution to the establishment of "Kazakhstan" endowment fund, which supports successful students from Kazakhstan, who are studying at Ural Federal University.
