UrFU will take part in the organization of open education in Russia

Victor Koksharov joined the Council for Open Online Education

The Rector of Ural Federal University, Victor Koksharov will become one of the members of the Council for Open Online Education. The decision to create this council was made by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The rectors of Moscow State University, School of Economics, MIPT, MISA, St. Petersburg State University, SPbPGU, ITMO, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Education and Rosobrnadzor will also become the members of the council. The head of the Council is elected Dmitry Livanov.

Council's activity is aimed at improving the legal framework, organizational, methodological and logistical conditions of online educational courses implementation. Much attention will be given to the formation of unified standards for the description of the results of online courses development, coordination of inter-university cooperation within the process of online courses creation.

The other important decision was the start of joint research, conducted by universities, which initiated the Council for Open Online Education to establish a national portal of open education. The person responsible for organizing the activity of the special working group was appointed Deputy Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Director of UrFU Institute of Open Education Technology, Vasily Tretyakov.
