Social, economic and political aspects of the European Union were discussed today at Ural Federal University

“We maintain friendly relations with Russia. As a member of the European Union Slovakia keeps the principles of peaceful cooperation with your country”, - with these words Luboš Blaha, the Chairman of Committee on European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, opened his lecture for the students of Ural Federal University.

Expert Club “Ural-Eurasia” hosted a round table on “European Union: social, economic and political aspects”. Before this event the Slovak delegation met UrFU Rector, Victor Koksharov.

The round table discussion touched the issues of student exchange with the universities of Slovakia and carrying out joint research, in particular, in the spheres of engineering and natural sciences.

“Program of the Ural Engineering School implemented by the regional government, large industrial enterprises and Ural Federal University is aimed at increasing the interest of young people in the region to engineering”, - said Victor Koksharov. “This problem is common for all European countries, and we need to elaborate a set of cooperative measures”.

Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Ekaterinburg, the State Duma deputy Alexander Petrov introduced the members of the delegation and thanked the university and the expert club “Ural-Eurasia” for organizing the meeting.
