The new scientific and educational BRICS centre will be opened in Ekaterinburg

Experts from the BRICS countries highly estimated the research potential of the university in materials science.

Viktor Koksharov, the Rector of Ural Federal University, suggested creating the new education and research BRICS centre of materials science in Ural Federal University in collaboration with the Ural Office of the Russian Academy of Science and Business.

At "The Education and Cities of the World" international conference the Head of the university underlined that this idea is being discussed with the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. It is also possible that the final decision will be announced among other results of the summit concerning the development of educational projects.

Experts of St. Petersburg Forum highly estimated the research potential of UrFU. Viktor Koksharov told them about the experience of successful cooperation between the university and business.

The second international conference "The Education and Cities of the World: perspective of the BRICS" is held on May 14-15 in St. Petersburg. The event was organized by the Higher School of Economics under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The conference is included in the official agenda of the Russian Presidency of the BRICS.

BRICS is a group of five rapidly emerging countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The summit of the organization will be held on July 8-10 in Ufa.
